I am thrilled you took me up on the suggestion and now are well on your way to being indexed with Bing. Yes, all indications are that Bing will power Yahoo search making this simple step doubly important.

Thanks for sharing and best of luck.

Great suggestion Mardy. I just compared my pages indexed by Google versus Bing and was surprised that only about 10% were on the latter's search engine. I followed your advice and submitted my site map (fingers crossed).

I have been recently focusing on Bing because I am told that when Yahoo! and Bing start working together, the Bing natural results will be used by both engines (rather than Yahoo!'s). Another great reason to concentrate on Bing optimization.

Best,
There should also be a "Hide" link to the right of the post, which gives you a pull-down to hide the person or the application. The link is a bit subtle to see (no underline or button/box).

I couldn't agree more Scott and thank you for your comments. Yes - there is no single methodology in marketing today - or for that matter, there never was, however the direction seems to be moving strongly toward consumer generated content overpowering marketing messages. All marketing professionals and business owners need to take heed that if they have not begun a SMM campaign that they must get started in order to remain relevant in search results.

    Mardy,

thank you for this post. It is very bold. While I don't completly agree with you, you have outlines a very critical point. You state Social Media is likely the only ingredient in SEO. I don't think it is, or ever will be, however your strong emphathis is still being overlooked significantly in SEO. SEO is simply quality marketing, and networking in the old skool world is critical for business success. Social Media marketing is essentially the digital version of networking and the SE's have determined that this is an effective strategy in any business' toolbox to market themselves to the Internet, whereby the SE's organize this information.
SMM is likely the most effective tool in that toolbox, however, and in turn, your theory could be accurate, that solely SMM could provide SEO results. In my opinion for almsost anything business, no single method should be used.
